Chris Mobley

years of service: 1998 - 2010, 2025 - present

Chris and Kathy Mobley have been rooted in the Azle community since 1986 and have spent decades investing their time, energy, and heart into local youth sports. Their journey began in 1992 when they signed up their children, Bonnie and Austin, for Azle Youth Association—Bonnie in cheer and Austin in football. What started as a way to get their kids involved quickly became a family mission to support and grow youth athletics in Azle.

Chris joined the AYA board in 1998 and served until 2010. Over those 12 years, he took on a variety of leadership roles including Assistant Equipment Manager, Equipment Manager, Football Director, and eventually President. He was passionate about improving the facilities and shaping a strong, respected board. Some of his favorite memories include traditions like the pancake supper, silent auction, and end-of-season award ceremonies. Now on the Azle Youth Sports Board, Chris is eager to see those traditions restored and to help build something lasting for the next generation of Azle athletes.

Kathy was right alongside him every step of the way, serving as a team mom, a cheer coach, and eventually as AYA's Concession Stand Manager. Today, she's continuing that role as the AYS Concessions Coordinator. Her heart has always been in creating a welcoming, family-like atmosphere where kids are supported and parents work together. She fondly remembers how all the parents were friends, all the kids were friends—and many of those relationships still remain strong today.

After recently retiring from a 30-year career in law enforcement with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Kathy is still committed to helping shape the next generation. She saw firsthand over the last 30 years what happens when these values aren't instilled while kids are still young.

The Mobleys continue to lead by example, with their son Austin now serving as Director of the AYS Football Program. They believe in the importance of integrity, respect, and a love for the game—and they're calling on like-minded individuals to join them in building something great for Azle's youth.
